Living by Signs

- Honey, I’ve spilled some salt...

- Don’t worry, darling, everything will be fine.

- It’s too late, I’ve already psyched myself up...

to believe in omens, a black cat to fail, to live by omens

Should we believe in signs or not?

Do black cats really bring bad luck and full buckets - happiness? Should we live by signs and perceive them as the Universe’s voice? It all depends on only one person – on you!

What are the signs? The glossary suggests to consider a sign as a distinctive feature of some phenomena or objects, the presence of which provides further events. Signs suggest a connection between two events when one of them happens as a fact, and another as a consequence.

The largest amount of signs and superstitions appear, of course, on the big holidays and important life events – wedding, christening, birthday. For example, for a marriage to be lucky the newlyweds shouldn’t see each other in the morning of the wedding day. And the wedding rings should be round and smooth, without any carvings, notches and stones – for the family life to be smooth. I could continue and continue. But isn’t such causation questionable?

to return is a bad omen, to scatter salt is to quarrel

Here is one more example. You forgot your purse at home and left for work. What should you do, because to return is a bad omen? However, to be honest, a whole day without a purse is a real challenge of fate:)

And what should you do if you spilled some salt? - Of course, start a quarrel, because it leads to it!

As for me, people who blindly believe in all signs have a tough life. I mean not only bad, but good signs, too. Because something good in their lives also depend on the weather, full buckets, the first people they meet and so on.

Should you believe or not?

fear, insecurity, self-doubt

Of course, you should! But believe in yourself, in things you dream of and things you want so much, that no signs will interfere. Just imagine how many marriages would have fallen apart, how many misfortunes and conflicts would have happened if all signs were to come true. Or vice versa, if all good signs were to come true, most of us would definitely be rich, successful and lucky. However, something still goes wrong.

In the first case, when you unquestionably believe in bad signs you don’t give yourself a chance to be happy and live a full and joyful life. Fear, uncertainty, self-doubt subconsciously attract all bad signs.

Imagine, a woman wants to change a job, place of living or something else. But she constantly delays the important decisions, the first step or the tough conversation, because all signs are against her. In reality she is so afraid of these changes that she is the one who attracts the events saying that it’s not the right time yet. Unfortunately, her time could never come.

salt was scattered, permission to clarify the relationship

Here is one more example when bad signs are handy. A woman has an internal prohibition for some kind of behavior or event. She has an unresolved situation with a husband. It would be a good thing to talk openly, but no – she doesn’t do it, because it is a tricky and unpleasant conversation, and it is likely to end by a conflict. And then the salt spills. And it is a sign of a quarrel. And it magically happens. The woman finally speaks out everything which has swelled in her.

What does the spilled salt give in reality? - A permission fto clarify relashionship. Before this she couldn’t dare for an unpleasant conversation, and now everything has worked out – she can do it. Unfortunately, some people resolve conflicts only in such a way. And the culprits here are the bad signs.

Concerning the sign about the spilled salt, there is a certain story. Some time ago salt was valued like gold. In those times to spill the salt meant to lose money. So, the conflicts on this basis were understandable. But this story has nothing to do with modern bad signs.

I really want and make an effort, happiness will not come by itself

Concerning the happy signs, the situation may be the following. A woman saw a rainbow, found a lilac with an odd number of petals, or something else, and understood – success, luck are by her side. She’d better start moving in her goals’ direction, but what for? The signs said that she would have everything anyway. According to the signs, the woman has to become a successful, rich person very quickly, but in reality, she just waits when the signed happiness comes, she doesn’t have to do anything for that.

This is how the signs work.

You are the one who puts sense and force in them. You are the one who chooses which ones of them should come true. You are the one who decides to act receiving a good sign, or to wait for heavenly manna!

But, frankly speaking, there are some signs in which I believe unquestionably:

  • If you think that you can change another person without her/his wish, you will fail.
  • If you act only in your thoughts, nothing happens in reality.
  • If you do nothing to achieve your dream, it will not come true.

Concerning all other signs, before believing in them ask yourself:

  • Should I set the record straight without quarrels?
  • Am I afraid to do it?
  • Don't I want this to come true/ Am I afraid of it?

It’s up to you to decide whether to believe in signs or not. But I suggest you to create your own signs which will help you reach success, build happy relations and open new horizons.

I have one good sign – if I want something badly, make efforts to its realization, then it will surely happen. And one more – nobody except myself can never forbid me anything or vise versa make me do anything.

Hopefully, you will make the right conclusions, and in your life there will be only good signs helping you to create a happy life;-)
